Our Big Fat Greek Crush
While we couldn't find any links in the 'fake news' media, we'd like to rectify such an injustice and celebrate some of the recent achievements of one of our very own Post-Docs. Since completing her thesis, Konstantina has been storming through Europe like Genghis Khan in the early 13th Century, swashbuckling and collecting awards along the way. Starting the year off on the right foot, she picked up the prize from the galette de Rois before collecting a prize for the best international thesis complete with gameshow winning sized cheque! Quite a few months for the rising talent out of Athens, who when she's not busy pushing fashion boundaries is busy doing some great science! Only time will tell what lies next in store but she's definitely one to keep an eye on for the future... Yamas indeed(click for link)

Lab Work Profiled on France 3
The performance of the lab has recently been evaluated by both AERES (the Department for the Evaluation of Research Units) and INSERM itself, with the full AERES report of the lab available here.
- Classification Level obtained by the lab in the most recent INSERM evaluations (2014)
A number of researchers in this team are bona fide world leaders in their respective subject areas, particularly in the specialties of tanycyte biology and hypothalamic development and plasticity. They are also well known and respected in the broader fields of fertility/reproduction and obesity respectively. Part of their strength is that they represent a very ‘outward-looking’ and cosmopolitan lab, with close interactions with the Saban Research Institute in Los Angeles California, USA. This is consequently reflected in the attractiveness of the lab to many researchers from outside FranceAeres (Department for the Evaluation of Research Units, January 2014)
Visit From Thierry Lhermitte
Our lab was recently paid a visit by Fondation Recherche Médicale (FRM) ambassador Thierry Lhermitte. Thierry gave an inspirational speech about the importance of basic Scientific Research whilst attending a presentation on the recent work of the lab and learning about the techniques currently in use in our lab.
